cyrus parker civil war pension records

Today I received by mail a large package with the civil war pension records of Cyrus Parker. There are 49 pages in the package and they are very legible. What's really interesting is that the National Archives had written to me a month or so ago and told me that the records could not be found. I wonder if someone had gone back and was reviewing all the "could not be located" records.

Received a note from the National Archives today that they could not locate the civil war pension records that I requested. This was for David Van Frank, son of my ancestor John Van Frank. He was killed during the war, so I was hoping maybe his parents requested a pension. But none could be located. I could probably still write for his military service records, although they probably don't have any inforamtion of genealogical value.

Received today an e-mail from DAR with recap of Andrew Hill's service, (as was submitted on a member's application who claimed Andrew Hill as ancestor.) The bad part is that you can only ask for a copy of the application and cannot get a copy of the supporting documentation.
