Today I received selected copies of the book "the Genealogy of the Van Vranken and Van Frank" by Captain George Curry. I received these copies from Rick V.

Received today from Jackie T the CD with the pictures of the Whipple family cemetery.

Re-established contact with Jackie T. who is a descendat of Charles and Hannah Whipple. In October 2006, she discovered the graves of Charles and Whipple with four of their children and other family members. She is going to send me a CD of the pictures.

Today I made contact with Rick V. He either saw my personal website or my rootsweb website. John Van Frank was his 3rd great grandfather and he is descended through his son Charles Philip Van Frank.

Diehl descendant located

Today I made contact with Jim C, who is a direct descendant of Christian and Anna Maria (Foster) Diehl. My grandfather had given me 2 Diehl old photograph albums. I was holding on to them because I didn't want to throw them away, but they are not my direct family. Per chance, I happened to find Jim's website on genealogy.com. He had Walter Diehl listed. So I contacted Jim and it turns out that Walter was his grandfather. So I did federal express the 2 albums directly to him.

Found on rootsweb a post for an obituary of Newton Sheldon. I never had this before.

death date found

Found online the death date and certificate number for William Hagan, brother to my ancestor John A. Hagan. He apparently died at age 69 on May 2, 1905 in Kings County. Certificate number 8570. I have to send in my $10 to get a copy of the certificate.

Also found at same time, death date and certificate number for anne M. Hagan, William's wife. She died on 01 June 1906 at age 62 in Kings County New York, certificate number 12269.

Today I found online on ancestry.com, a very nice description of the life of Oliver C. McLouth. As it turns out, he is the father of my ancestor Emily McLouth, who married Seaton Flint. This was an article from the Portrait and Biographical Album of Lenawee County, Michigan, page 1141

Found an online newspaper article today. This was on ancestry.com. It was from "The Standard" of Hillsdale Mich dated Tuesday February 9, 1869. It was reporting the delegates to the Republican Co. Convention. Listed from Somerset Township was S. Flint.
